Dinner at Yummy Thai Buffet Steamboat

Bought a Groupon deal for 4-course authentic Thai-Chinese Cuisine at Yummy Thai Buffet Steamboat at RM25.00 instead of RM35.60.  The restaurant is located at No. 109, Jalan Dwitasik 1, Dataran Dwitasik, Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras, 56000 Kuala Lumpur.

Redemption period is from July 25 to September 25, 2012 and we used it for dinner after work on Wednesday, September 5, 2012.

The 4-course meal consists of tom yam seafood (RM9.90 value)

~ lala, shrimp, squid and crab in tom yam soup ~

sweet and sour chicken (RM9.90 value)

calamari prawn (RM7.90 value)

kailan salted fish (RM7.90 value)

and of course rice (RM1.50) and drinks which are not included in the voucher.

Taman Bukit Jalil

Walking in the park is still a part of my weekly routine.  After walking at Taman Tasik Perdana and Taman Tasik Permaisuri, I decided to visit another park which I've never been before ~ Taman Bukit Jalil.

There is a park called Laman Antarabangsa where there are miniature buildings representing some foreign countries. Just managed to take photos of 3 countries...

This is a beautiful park and I'm looking forward to walk around here again :)

Breakfast at Cravings Kitchen & Bistro

Browsing through the discount deal websites, my colleague found an irresistible deal under Dealhunt ~ Hunt Together, Save Together. Just gotta give in to temptation with the deal from Cravings Kitchen & Bistro and tuck into a meal for two at only RM8 instead of RM24.

The deal consists of two main course, two drinks and two single scoop of Magnolia F&N ice-cream. Cravings Kitchen & Bistro is located at Tesco Extra Cheras, Ground Floor, Lot No.G33, No.2, Jalan Midah 2, Taman Midah, Cheras, 56000 Kuala Lumpur. Its business hours are from 9am to 10pm.

The coupon is valid from August 18 to November 18, 2012 and we used it on Friday, August 31, 2012.

For main course, you can choose nasi lemak with sambal ikan bilis, meehoon goreng, mee goreng or kaya & butter toast with omega soft boiled eggs. We choose the first two choices.

For drinks, you can choose coffee, milk tea, cham, soya milk (Homesoy original), honey lemon or lemon tea.  We choose iced coffee and hot honey lemon.

As for the Magnolia F&N single scoop ice-cream, you can choose vanilla, double chocolate chips, strawberry or peppermint chips flavour.  We choose chocolate chips.

The food is not something that will make you come back here anymore :(

Visiting new mother in Prince Court Medical Centre

Last Friday, August 31, 2012 at 00.06 am, my friend gave birth to a healthy 2.9 kg baby girl at Prince Court Medical Centre as our country is celebrating national day.

Prince Court Medical Centre is a 300-bed private healthcare facility located at 39, Jalan Kia Peng, 50450 Kuala Lumpur.  It is fully owned by Petronas, Malaysia's national petroleum company.

I visited her the next morning at 11.40 am.  This was my first visit to Prince Court Medical Centre. Naturally, I didn't come empty-handed. Bought her Eu Yan Sang Ginger Wine for confinement cooking.

My friend was alone in her room when I came.  Her baby was at the nursery.  Left after an hour when a few other visitors came in.

Celebrating birthday at Athena

Managed to treat a colleague on her actual birthday yesterday at Athena, Pavilion.  Birthday girl usually takes leave on her birthday but not this girl ;-)

This was our first visit to the restaurant.  

We started with soup of the day 
~ clam chowder ~

followed by fish and chips
 ~ grilled dory fillet served with chef's salad and  French fries ~

roasted leg of chicken
 ~ juicy chicken leg served with chef's salad and BBQ sauce ~

Pasta Aglio Olio
 ~ pasta with garlic oil and chili flakes ~

Turkey Ham Carbonara
 ~ creamy pasta carbonara served with tender turkey ham ~

hot lemon tea

and lastly, ice-cream as dessert.

The service was slow even though there was just a few customers and the food was not that yummy so probably not coming again...

BookFest in Malaysia 2012

BookFest @ Malaysia 2012 was launched on August 17, 2012 and opened to public from 10am to 10pm from August 18 to 26, 2012.  It was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.  Admission is RM2.50 per ticket. Here's the wristband that we gotta wear for entrance this year.

Went there on the first day this year which is the eve of Hari Raya Puasa.  If we thought that it means less people at the fair, we thought wrong :( The halls were crowded and the parking lot was full.

After spending more than two hours, I bought four books...

Now I'm closer to complete my collection of books by Emily Giffin :) Wonder when I'll find time to read them though...

Exploring new mall: Paradigm Mall

Decided to go to Paradigm Mall located at Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya on Thursday, July 26, 2012.

Paradigm Mall is open from May 23, 2012 with Tesco as its anchor tenant. Sure enough there are so many retail outlets and one of my favourite shops is opening soon.

The concourse is decorated to commemorate the Ramadhan month and the coming festival.

With so many restaurants and cafes to choose from, I chose to have lunch at Garden Recipe.  This is their only outlet in Klang Valley.  Their other outlet is at AEON Melaka.

My lunch is ~ stated on the menu as ~ Grilled Salmon served with Garlic Bread, Healthy Salad and Fruit and Longan Coral Seaweed

Definitely coming back to shop here...
