Looking for kek lapis and laksa Sarawak

Met up my classmate from university this afternoon. She took the day off today. We haven't met each other since we graduated which is more than ten years ago. She looks the same to me :)

Our itinerary includes looking for kek lapis
 and having laksa Sarawak.
Kek lapis Sarawak is a layered cake, traditionally served in Sarawak. Laksa Sarawak is a noodle soup with a base of sambal belacan, sour tamarind, garlic, galangal, lemon grass and coconut milk, topped with omelette strips, chicken strips, prawns, fresh coriander, lime, bean sprouts and sliced fried tofu.

Decided to go to Mira Cake House for kek lapis Sarawak and laksa Sarawak at Mom's Laksa Cafe.
Bought eight kek lapis and the laksa was delicious.  More importantly, it was great to meet up after all these years.

Till next week, looking forward to be back in my hometown soon.

Tesco Walk for Life 2012

Every year Tesco organises an annual walk to raise fund for charity.  This year Tesco works hand in hand with University of Malaya Medical Centre in helping children with leukaemia.  The event was held at Bukit Jalil Park on Sunday, December 9, 2012.
Collection of T-shirt is upon registration which started at 6.30 am.
We were flagged off at 8.15 am after a warm-up session.  We received a certificate of participation and goodie bag upon completion.
There were rounds of lucky draw after the walk ~ no luck, though... but it was fun!
Till next week, looking forward to my 2-week break :)

Postcode was opened on August 25, 2012.  It is located at 55, Jalan Danau Lumayan 1, Bandar Tun Razak, 56000 Kuala Lumpur.
Its business hours are from 10 am to 12 am on Monday to Friday, 10 am to 1 am on Friday, 9 am to 1 am on Saturday and 9 am to 12 am on Sunday.
After Saturday morning walk at Taman Tasik Permaisuri on November 10, 2012, we decided to try out breakfast at Postcode.

We had tuna sandwiches and toast bread with peanut butter
plus hot honey lemon for me.
The food is ok but the service...hmmmmmm :(

Till next week, looking forward to join the Tesco Walk for Life this Sunday.

Ultrasound at Columbia Asia Hospital Cheras

Heard about a promotion on breast ultrasound for only RM70 at Columbia Asia Hospital Cheras from a colleague recently. The promotion is held in conjunction with the breast awareness campaign from October 1 to November 30, 2012.
I did breast examination during my medical check up last year but I didn't do ultrasound so I decided to do it this year. I went to Columbia Asia Hospital Cheras for the ultrasound on Monday, November 26, 2012.

Columbia Asia Hospital Cheras is located at Lot 33107 Jalan Suakasih, 43200 Cheras, Selangor.  It was launched in February 2011.
Here's a part of the waiting area.
Waited a few minutes before I was called in for the ultrasound and a few more minutes after for the results.  Good news ~ everything's well :) yeah!!!

Till next week, stay healthy!

Raja Kita Exhibition

After lunch with my cousin and her family on Deepavali (Tuesday, November 13, 2012), we headed to Istana Negara Lama.  I've never been there before.

Didn't know there is an exhibition until we reached there.
The admission fee is RM2 per person for adult.
Took over fifty photos while I was there :) Too many to put up here so here are some...
