Breakfast at Black Market

Black Market is located at St Mary Place, No.1, Jalan Tengah, 50250 KL. Breakfast is available from Monday to Sunday: 7.30 am to 11.30 am.

Four of us decided to have breakfast there on Friday, March 14, 2014.

 Two of us had sunny side up with sauteed white button mushroom (RM8)

 while another two had omelet with toast (RM8)

 Tea or coffee can be added with RM1

Location ~ near our offices

Taste ~ good

Price ~ a bit pricey

Service ~ good

Definitely coming back...

Dinner at Garden Lifestyle Store & Cafe

It's time to meet up for Q1 of 2014. This time we had dinner at Garden Lifestyle Store & Cafe located at Lot F-001, First Floor, Mid Valley Megamall on Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

Garden Lifestyle & Cafe which offers Western and Asian cuisines was established in 2009. Currently there are 6 outlets in Klang Valley. It gives customers an experience of dining in a 'real' garden.

We had ice blended mocha, Sprite and Coke while waiting for the birthday boy to come

We ordered carbonara,

 chicken burger with charcoal bun,

 salmon burger with charcoal bun,

 pizza and

specially for the birthday boy, hazelnut cake and cheese cake. 

We were caught by surprise in our plan to surprise the birthday boy ~ by the cafe staff with the birthday song and decoration! Good job, guys!!

Breakfast at Fougasse Boulangerie & Patisserie

Fougasse Boulangerie & Patisserie is located at 25G, Jalan Pandan Indah 4/6A, Pandan Indah, 55100 Kuala Lumpur. It was opened in October 2012.

It opens from 8.30 am to 9.30 pm daily.

On Saturday, March 1, 2014, we went for breakfast there after our morning walk at Taman Tasik Permaisuri.

 There are varieties of bread, pastries,

 buns and

 cakes.

We ordered mushroom soup served with salad and toasted white bread,

 chicken croissant served with salad 

 and me and my tea :)

Location ~ a bit far

Taste ~ yummy

Price ~ reasonable

Service ~ not bad

Coming back ~ only if happens to be nearby

Dinner at V Chat Cafe

Bought a Groupon deal for 3-course Western Meal + Drink for 1 Person at V Chat Cafe for RM14.90 instead of RM43.70. The restaurant is located at No.32A-G, Jalan Kuchai Maju 1, Off Jalan Kuchai Lama, 58200 KL.

V Chat Cafe is a new restaurant that serves Western and Asian dishes.

Redemption period is from January 10 to March 12, 2014 and we used it for dinner after work on Tuesday, February 25, 2014.

We started with mushroom soup and garlic bread

honeydew juice and apple juice

  followed by main course,
grilled lamb shoulder

 and grilled salmon

and lastly, chocolate ice-cream.

Location ~ nearby

Food presentation ~ not bad

Taste ~ alright except for the salty lamb

Price ~ a bit pricey if not for the deal

Service ~ alright

Coming back ~ unlikely

Lunch at Djeumpa Restaurant

On the second day of Chinese New Year, Saturday, February 1, 2014, with most restaurants and cafes are still closed, my cousins and I went for lunch at dJeumpa Restaurant located in Lot G16 & G17, Terrace 2, AEON Big, PJU 5, Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya.

The place was empty when we came in at 11.30 am.

I ordered black pepper beef set which comes with soup, agar-agar and hot tea (RM13.50)

while both of them ordered nasi lemak with fried chicken (RM10.90).

We also order keropok lekor (RM5.50) and

drinks ~ tea, coffee (RM3) and fresh orange juice (RM4.90) ~

Location ~ quite far

Food presentation ~ alright

Taste ~ so-so only

Price ~ affordable

Service ~ alright

Coming back ~ definitely no

Happy Chinese New Year 2014

The Chinese New Year for 2014 is on January 31 and marks the start of the Year of the Horse.

This year, on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, I received a card, a box of oranges, cookies and a packet of muruku.

On Thursday, January 23, 2014, our company tossed yee sang before buffet lunch at Hotel Istana.  

 The next day, our department tossed yee sang before lunch at Sisters Kitchen, Menara Hap Seng.

Lunch at Strawberry Fields Cafe

On the first day of Chinese New Year, Friday, January 31, 2014, almost all shops and restaurants or cafes are closed. SO glad to find one that is opened...yeah!

Strawberry Fields Cafe was established since 1988 specialising in Malaysian, Thai and Western food. It is located at Lot 14, Ground Floor, Jalan Tengah, 46200 Petaling Jaya. Its opening hours are from 11.30am to 2am from Sunday to Thursday and from 11am to 3am on Friday and Saturday.

We ordered butter cream chicken rice (RM9.60),

ginger and onion beef rice (RM8.80),

ice barley with lime (RM3.40), fresh orange juice (RM5) and

our dessert, waffle with vanilla ice-cream (RM5.30).

Location ~ not a problem but parking is a misery

Food presentation ~ awesome

Taste ~ yummy

Price ~ reasonable

Service ~ good

Coming back ~ sure!
