Losing my wisdom

Brushing and flossing our teeth everyday is important but a regular visit to the dentist is just as important.  It's important to visit our dentist every six months to make sure our teeth and gums are healthy.  Not that I do that... well, I brush and floss everyday but a visit to dentist every six months? No, only when I broke my tooth which happened again recently. My last visit to dentist was on April 2, 2011, also for broken tooth.

Last Friday I visited my dentist at Red Apple Dental Clinic and got filling for my two teeth and extraction of my wisdom tooth. Before removing the wisdom tooth, the dentist gave me a local anaesthetic to numb the area where the tooth will be removed. It was a minor procedure that took only a few minutes. I was advised not to take hot and spicy meal afterwards.  Instead I was asked to take cold drinks and greatly encouraged to eat ice-cream :) It sounds great except that I don't take cold drinks :(

Grateful that I was able to go through the rest of the weekend without fever or pain.  Didn't even have to take the painkillers.

Breakfast at CoffeeBox

It has been announced that today, April 11, 2012, is a national public holiday to celebrate the installation of new king. The role of King is rotated amongst the nine Sultans with each reigning for a period of five years. 

The Sultan of Kedah, 84, who ascended to the throne on December 13, 2011, was officially installed as the 14th Yang diPertuan Agong with an installation ceremony and banquet at Istana Negara, Jalan Duta. This is Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'azam Shah's second reign as monarch.  His first reign was from 1970 to 1975.

Just thought of mentioning about this before I share about the breakfast I had last Saturday :) Not that it has anything to do with it.  I just watched the installation ceremony which was telecast live on tv this morning. 

After the morning walk at Taman Tasik Permaisuri, we decided to try out breakfast set at CoffeeBox.  It is located at No.24, Jalan 5/89A, off Jalan Sekilau, Batu 3 1/2 Cheras, 56000 Kuala Lumpur.

We chose nasi lemak with coffee and Nutella chocolate bun with tea.

For RM4.30 (inclusive of 10% service tax) in a place like that, it's definitely worth it! We are looking forward to come again!

Golden Ticket Invitation to Taste of Euphoria @ Royale Chulan Hotel

Last week was a stressful one so I decided to unwind with friends after work on Friday. We went to Sticky Fingers Bangkok Bistro. Not that I'm gonna share about the dinner or the place, just the invitation that we received while we were there.

It's an invitation for Beer & Chocolate Festival 2012 ~ foreign and gourmet chocolates, beers and cheese, liquor sampling, beer and coffee workshop, mixology throw down, open bar, wine pairing and more ~

What's interesting? The invitation comes with a bar of chocolate.

Not that I'm interested to go... Didn't even go so can't say anything on the event.  Just getting a chocolate without even going to the event is simply awesome ;)

Eating noodles at Madam Lim's Kitchen

After shopping at The Curve and IPC, we decided to go for lunch at Madam Lim's Kitchen Restaurant at Tesco Mutiara Damansara.  It serves a variety of Chinese, Nyonya and Thai fusion cuisine and we choose to try out the noodles.

 We had cantonese style kuay teow
~ kuay teow with egg, green mustard, chicken and prawns in gravy ~

 Malacca char mee
~ fried yellow noodles with chicken, chinese cabbage, bean sprouts and tomato ~

~ stir-fried kuay teow with soy sauce, prawns, bean sprouts, eggs, spring onions and chillies ~

Char tang hoon

~ glass noodles fried with chicken, shrimps, cabbage, eggs, onions and chillies ~

that comes with carrot and potato soup.

Of course we also ordered drinks

lime juice

star fruit juice

honey lemon juice

and Nyonya ice kacang.

Well, that's not all... also ordered chicken chop with plum sauce

The food is good and the price is affordable.  Don't mind coming again to try out whatever else they have on the menu...

Lunch at Robot Sushi@One Utama

I am always on the lookout for new restaurants or cafes that I have never tried before so two days ago I had lunch at Robot Sushi, One Utama.

Ordered one of their Credit Crunch Lunch set ~ Chicken Katsu Garlic Fried Rice Set ~ for RM9.95,

Cosmo Roll ~ minced chicken & onion wrapped in grilled, topped with tempura flakes and served with mayo and chilli sauce ~ for RM12.90

and Sweet Sakura Roll ~ crisp fresh cucumber with tamago wrapped with crunchy tempura and Sakura denboo ~ for RM10.90.

Good taste + affordable price + Japanese food = I don't mind coming back ^_^

Eating Satay Kajang

Satay or sate is a dish that consists of sliced chicken, beef, goat, fish and even rabbit meat that uses bamboo skewers, grilled or barbecued over a wood or charcoal fire.  Satay is served with spicy sauce peanut gravy, slivers of onions, cucumbers and 'ketupat'. 

Often when we think of satay in Malaysia, the first thing that comes into our mind is satay Kajang.  Though we can eat satay Kajang out of Kajang nowadays, my colleagues and I decided to go to Kajang last Saturday.

Before we went for satay, we dropped by Hutan Rekreasi Sungai Tekala. It is a weekend nature getaway with plenty of camping spots available for picnic or just hang out in the jungle with family and friends. A shallow river lingers throughout the recreational forest surrounded by shady rainforest trees.

We left just after a few minutes to go for our original plan ~ satay Kajang  at  Restoran Malaysia at Jalan Semenyih, Kajang. 

We ordered 15 sticks of chicken satay and 5 sticks of goat satay,

'ketupat', cucumbers

and drinks ~ sugarcane and coconut...

Wow, what a heavy afternoon break... felt so sleepy after that.
