Wedding reception at Jiwa Damansara

It has been almost 8 years since I attended a wedding reception. I was invited to a colleague's wedding reception at Jiwa Damansara located at Block C, Neo Damansara, Jalan PJU 8/1, Damansara Perdana, 47820 Petaling Jaya, Selangor Darul Ehsan on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Attended the wedding reception at 1.20 pm and stayed on till 2.40pm.

It was great to see my colleagues.

Wedding reception at Kampung Teh, Mukah

As we are approaching the end of the year, our family attended my cousin's wedding reception at Kampung Teh, Mukah on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.

Haven't been to a Melanau wedding reception for a longgg time, it was a refreshing experience.

Wedding reception at Kompleks Sukan Datuk Keramat

I was invited to a colleague's wedding reception at Kompleks Sukan Datuk Keramat, Jalan Keramat Dalam, Kg Datuk Keramat, 54200 KL on Saturday, July 8, 2017. Their marriage solemnisation ceremony was held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017.

It was great to see my ex-boss and ex-colleagues along with current colleagues.

Wedding reception at Dewan Serbaguna Lembah Keramat

I was invited to a colleague's wedding reception at Dewan Serbaguna MPAJ, Jalan AU5, Lembah Keramat, 54200 KL on Saturday, March 4, 2017.

Attended their marriage solemnisation ceremony at Masjid Usamah Bin Zaid located at Jalan 2/27a, 53300 KL at 5.30 pm on Friday, March 3, 2017.  

Didn't get to see the contents of the dowry boxes.

Never been to a Malay marriage solemnisation ceremony before, it was quite a refreshing experience. The ceremony was not as I expected.  Guess I watched too many Malay dramas lately.

Attended the wedding reception the next day at 1pm and stayed on till 2.30pm. 

It was great to see my ex-boss and ex-colleagues along with current colleagues.

Wedding lunch at Restoran Kak Mie

Haven't been to a Malay wedding reception for a long time. The last one I've been to was more than five years ago.

I was invited to a colleague's sister's wedding lunch at Restoran Kak Mie located at One South Street Mall on Sunday, January 29, 2017. The mall was pretty much empty.

It was a typical Malay wedding reception with a typical door gift. Didn't know anyone else at the reception other than my colleagues.

Wedding dinner at SY Restaurant, Batu Pahat

Attended a colleague's wedding dinner on Saturday, November 28, 2015. It has been a year since I last attended a wedding reception ~ my first one in Batu Pahat.

It was a road trip for my ex-colleagues and I. We had breakfast at Subway at 8.30 am and left for Johor Premium Outlets (JPO) at 9 am. JPO is located at Indahpura, 81000 Kulai, Johor.

We reached JPO before noon and we had lunch at Absolute Thai Restaurant before we started shopping. Didn't find anything interesting so I left empty-handed at 3.15 pm. We reached Just Hotel, Batu Pahat at 5.15 pm. 

We don't want to be late for the dinner so we left at 6.50 pm. The event started at 8.30 pm ~ not punctual as all of us had expected ~ and we left around 11pm.

It was an 8-course dinner (as usual).

The bride looks radiantly beautiful and happy. It was great meeting and catching up with ex-colleagues.

Wedding dinner at Melia Seasons Restaurant

Attended an ex-colleague's wedding dinner last Saturday, November 29, 2014. Just realised that it has been years since I last attended a wedding reception.

 The event started at 8.30 pm and I left around 11pm.
It was an 8-course dinner (as usual).

The bride looks radiantly beautiful and happy. It was great meeting and catching up with ex-colleagues who I haven't met since they left the company.

Cheers to the newly weds for a lifetime of happiness!

Wedding dinner at Kelab Golf Negara Subang

As we are approaching the end of the year, I was invited to another ex-colleague's wedding dinner at Dewan Tunku, Kelab Golf Negara Subang on Saturday, December 3, 2011.

While it was easy to find Kelab Golf Negara Subang, finding Dewan Tunku was not that easy.  It was quite a walk from the visitor parking to the hall.

Wedding dinner at Concorde Hotel

It is really a good year to get married 

~ as I was told oh so many times this year ~ 

hence another wedding invitation

It was an 8-course dinner:
five happiness Hors D'oeuvres combination
braised thick soup with eight treasure and fish lip
roast chicken and roast duck
steamed cod fish with shimeji mushroom and black fungus
steamed tiger prawn with Chinese herb
braised sea cucumber, black mushroom and seasonal vegetables
stir fried egg noodles with scramble egg

chilled sea coconut and jelly and ginseng

Food and decoration aside, it was great meeting ex-colleagues who I haven't met since they left the company.

Wedding reception at Restoran Makanan Laut Chong Fatt

Was invited to another ex-colleague's wedding reception on Sunday, October 2, 2011.

I was seated with my colleagues at table no.2.  Never been seated near the main table and the stage before. So happy for the newly weds... errr not so new considering that they registered their marriage in May last year...

Wedding reception at Chili Espresso, Sooka Sentral

Was invited to attend an ex-colleague's wedding luncheon on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Chili Espresso, Sooka Sentral.

Not the conventional Chinese wedding reception, it was more like Malay wedding style.  The invitation is open from 12 pm to 5 pm and it's a buffet style wedding reception.  The food ~ mamak goreng, Singaporean mee hoon, pasta, fried chicken, green curry gravy, kerabu mangga, durian cheese cake, chocolate cake, a variety of local delicacies and so on ~ all tasted so good.

The door gift is kinda cute.

Wedding reception at HGH Convention Centre

Thought of writing something about wedding and my thoughts on it but in the end, decided against it.  Gonna keep it short and simple this week.  Not even gonna mention about food.  Here goes...


Was invited to a friend's wedding reception on Saturday, February 26, 2011.

  It was held at HGH Convention Centre.  It was quite easy to find the place.

There were 75 tables for the guests that night.  Imagine the newlyweds have to toast 75 times?!  Well, they didn't... two or three tables combined for a toast!

They have been together since school days and they finally sealed their relationship officially... So happy for them.  Congratulations!
