Sightseeing in Amsterdam

On Monday, September 19, 2016, left Norbury station at 11.05 am after breakfast at Rio's Britannia Cafe and reached Gatwick Airport at 12.05 pm. Departed from Gatwick Airport at 3.15 pm and arrived at Armsterdam Schiphol at 5.15 pm. 
Bought the iAmsterdam card for 48-hour pass (£65) at the airport. Then took the train to Amsterdam Centraal (£5.70). At 6.05 pm, took the train to Ceintuurbaan station and walked to the hotel.

Checked in Hotel Atlantis Armsterdam (€204.75) at 7.30 pm.

My room is the only one with a balcony... wow!

Walked along the river for an hour before stopped by Three Chefs for take-away dinner at 10 pm.
Bought fried noodles (€7.50) and mineral water (€2).

On Tuesday, September 20, 2016, left Ceintuurbaan station at 9.10 am and reached Amsterdam Centraal at 9.25 am. I had chocolate croissant (€1.95) for breakfast. Left Amsterdam Centraal at 10.34 am and reached Koog-Zaandijk (€7.20) at 10.52 am
I am so ecstatic to be here. I'm finally in my dream country. I have dreamt to come here for years and I'm now here in reality.
Visited Uurwerk Museum (€10), Museum Zaanse Tijd, Museum hou ten huis (€4) and Oil Mill (€4).


Joined a 5-minute boat ride across Zaan river (€1).
Visited Molenmuseum (Mill Museum) €4.50 before leaving Koog-Zaandijk station to Amsterdam Centraal at 12.53 pm.
Then joined the 1-hour Canal cruise at 1.29 pm.
Visited Madame Tussauds (€17.63) from 3.30 pm to 4.15 pm.




































Walked around Centraal-Leidseplein from 4.50 pm to 5 pm
and dropped by Hard Rock Cafe at 5.05 pm.

Bought take away dinner from Three Chefs again (€7.50) that evening.
This time it's rice+beef+cabbage.
On Wednesday, September 21, 2016, checked out from hotel at 8.20 am.
Visited Rijksmuseum (€15) from 9 am to 10.15 am.

followed by Van Gogh Museum (€17) from 11.05 am to 11.26 pm.
Went for Heineken Experience (€13.50) from 11.45 am to 12.28 pm.




Had lunch at Pizzeria La Dolee from 12.50 pm to 1.35 pm.



 
So happy to have my favourite flavour, Quattro Formaggio (€6.50)


Went back to the hotel to collect luggage before leaving Centraal Amsterdam at 2.25 pm and reached Amsterdam Schiphol at 2.40 pm.

Departed from Armsterdam Schiphol at 7.15 pm and reached London Gatwick at 7.15 pm. Left South Terminal at 8.45 pm and reached East Croydon at 9 pm. I had chicken Royale (£3.99) take-away from Burger King for dinner.

It was an enjoyable and memorable trip. People are so friendly and helpful. I'd most definitely come again...

Next city is the city of love...  

Day trip beyond London

On Friday, September 16, 2016, I joined the day tour out of London (£89)Took the train from Norbury station to Victoria station and then walked to Fountain Square to get on the tour bus. Left the city at 8.50 am and reached Windsor Castle at 9.50 am. Walked around until 11.40 am.




Here we got to see the Queen Mary's Doll's House.








Next stop is Stonehenge at 11.50 am and we walked around until 1.50 pm. Excited to finally got to see the mysterious stonehenge. Its monolithic rocks rising up against the skyline on Salisbury Plain.
We also got to see the homes for the builders of Stonehenge.
Last stop is City of Bath. 
Left Stonehenge at 2.52 pm and reached the City of Bath at 3.48 pm. 





Bath was the first city in England to be designated an UNESCO world Heritage.


We were there until 5.30 pm. 
Reached London at 8.20 pm and took the train from Victoria station back to Norbury station at 9.25 pm.
