Brunch at Palmier Patisserie Cafe

Palmier Patisserie Cafe is an Australian inspired French patisserie. It is located at 1, Jalan Bukit Desa 5, Taman Bukit Desa, 58100 Kuala Lumpur. Its opening hours is from 11am to 11pm on weekdays and 10am to 11pm on weekends and public holidays. Currently there are 2 outlets in Klang Valley. The other one is at Mont' Kiara.

The menu includes pastries, cakes, pies and quiches.

Went there on Monday, February 1, 2016.

 
 We had the breakfast set (RM16) ~ croissant with roasted tomato soup and cold pressed orange juice ~

 and the brunch set (RM19.50) ~ smoked Norwegian salmon panini

and Berry Sensation tea.

 We also had chicken ham quiche (RM10.50)

and chocolate truffle (RM9.50).

Seating ~ indoor as well as outdoor

Taste ~ good

Price ~ quite costly

Afternoon tea at Colonial Cafe

On Thursday, February 4, 2016, our department went for afternoon tea at The Tea Lounge,  Colonial Cafe, The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

We were there from 3 pm to 6 pm

~ good excuse to be out of office during office hours for non-work related matter ~

The tea set includes scones served with cream and jam, finger sandwiches, delicate cakes, mini tart

and hot savouries.

Lunch at De Truly Malaysian Cafe

De Truly Malaysian Cafe is located at Ground Floor, No.1, Jalan 2/109F, Taman Danau Desa, 58100 Kuala Lumpur.

Its opening hours is from 8am to 11pm daily.

The menu includes various Malay and nyonya food from roti canai, roti bakar, nasi lemak, fried noodles to Western, Chinese, Indian and Punjabi food.

Went there last Sunday, January 31, 2016.

We had nasi lemak ayam rendang and hot tea (RM9.50),

 asam pedas ikan pari ~ spicy stingray topped with lady finger and aubergine (RM16.90)

served with white rice

 and watermelon.

Price ~ reasonable

Service ~ good

Breakfast at Yeast Cafe

Yeast Cafe is located at Lot G(E)-013A, Ground External Floor, Mid Valley Megamall. It was opened in April 2015. Currently there are 2 outlets in Klang Valley. The first one was opened in 2012 in Bangsar. Its opening hours is from 8am to 10pm on weekdays and 8am to 10.30pm on weekends.

Went there last Sunday, January 31, 2016. The menu includes pastries, salad, pasta and desserts.

We had fresh mixed fruits salad (RM10),

Oeufs Poches Benedictine ~ 2 soft poached eggs on brioche toast with turkey, bearnaise sauce and greens (RM22) and watermelon juice (RM13),

and baguette set (RM15) that comes with fruit juice and coffee or tea.

  My choice ~ carrot juice and chamomile tea.

Location ~ convenient as it is at a shopping mall

Food presentation ~ alright

Taste ~ good

Price ~ quite pricey

Service ~ good

Needless to say, we'll be coming again but not so soon.

Brunch at Le Lapin Cafe

Le Lapin Cafe is located at 31, Jalan 1/109F, Taman Danau Desa, 58100 Kuala Lumpur. Its opening hours is from 10am to 5pm daily.

Le Lapin means the rabbit in French.

The menu is written on the blackboard on the wall.

Went there last Monday, January 25, 2016 at 2 pm. When I asked for pasta of the day, I was disappointed to be informed that pasta has finished so has the rest on the menu except house salad and baked eggs.

With only two choices, I had baked eggs with sausage in tomato sauce served with toast (RM15) and hot Earl Grey tea (RM7). Even the tea only left with two choices also. The rest are finished.

Taste ~ not-so-good (didn't even finish it)

Price ~ expensive

Service ~ alright except almost all in the menu is not available including tea and cakes (only one left)

Needless to say, not coming back :-(

Mille Crêpe Cake & Drink Set at Vanilla Cake Shop

I browsed through the Groupon website and saw this deal ~ Mille crepe cake & drink set at Vanilla Cake Shop for only RM16.90 instead RM31.80!

Vanilla Cake Shop is a bakery specializing in premium quality cakes, famously known for their French Mille Crepe cakes. It started as a small bakery in Kajang and has expanded to two branches: No.17-G, Jalan SS15/4, 47500 Subang Jaya, Selangor and Lot LG-42, Paradigm Mall, No.1, Jalan SS7/26A, 47301 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Redemption period is within a month from date of purchase from 10.30 am to 10 pm daily.

I bought and redeemed it at their outlet in Paradigm Mall last Sunday, January 17, 2016. I choose Oreo cheese Mille Crêpe cake and  peach tea.

Was it worth it? Definitely :)

Celebrating Christmas 2015 and New Year 2016

Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer
had a very shiny nose.
And if you ever saw him,
you would even says it glows.

No Christmas card this year, just a few gifts.

 Received the first one on Thursday, December 10, 2015.

 On Tuesday, December 29, 2015, my family gathered for dinner.

We had ginger chicken,

fried spinach,

mixed vegetables soup

and steamed fish.

My family has definitely ditched the tradition. We just stayed home and watched TV on new year eve.
