Celebrating birthday at Ocean Shabu Shabu

On Friday, April 10, 2015, treated a friend for dinner at Ocean Shabu Shabu. Her actual birthday was on Wednesday, April 8.  It is located at 47 Jalan Radin Bagus, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, 57000 KL. Opening hours are from 5 pm to 12 am daily.

The three of us shared a jug of water cress and honey

with chicken slice, octopus paste, fish paste, fish ball, oyster mushroom, Chinese spinach, Chinese cabbage, fried beancurd skin, beancurd, kombu and spinach noodles in 'chew chow' broth and white fungus papaya broth.

It was good to catch up after more than four months :)

My cousin was in KL on her birthday this year, Saturday, April 4, 2015, so treated her lunch at Tinterland Selfiii Coffee & Bread located at 29, Jalan Radin Bagus 3, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, 57000 KL. It opens from 9am to 2am on Monday to Thursday and from 9am to 3am on Friday to Sunday,

 

After browsing through the menu, we decided to order

 
rose with French vanilla (T) real leaf tea, RM12.90 and lychee lemonade, RM12.90

 Scandinavian salmon salad ~ hearty crispy salad with Scandinavian marinated salmon and balsamic dressing ~
RM14.90

Aqua kingdom pizza
~ prawn, mussel, squid and wild rocket with mozzarella ~
RM16.90

 Mushroom bruschetta
~ toasted bread top with mushroom ragout, garlic cream cheese ~
RM14.90

Location ~  finding a car park is a nightmare 

Food presentation ~ alright

Taste ~ delicious

Service ~ great

Breakfast at Village Park Restaurant

Village Park Restaurant is located at 5, Jalan SS 21/37, Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya. It opens from 7.30am to 7pm daily.

We went there for breakfast while waiting for car service on Saturday, March 28, 2015.

Both of us had nasi lemak and barlee juice

Mine is beef rendang and hers is fried chicken.

I have been coming over and over again... and again in future :)

Bookerville ~ A Magical Town of Books 2015

The Putrajaya International Book Fair 2015, organised by MPH Bookstores, was held at Putrajaya International Convention Centre from 10am to 9pm from March 17 to 22, 2015. Admission is free :)

The theme for this year is Bookerville Facstory ~ a factory where stories are made. Visitors will get to discover the origins of how books have evolved and how books are made in its factory setting.

 Went there on Tuesday, March 17, 2015.

 Left in less than an hour...with just a book.

Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2015

The Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta was held at Precinct 2, Putrajaya from March 12 to 15, 2015.

USA, Germany, Netherlands and France are among the countries that took part in the event.

 This year marks the festival's seventh anniversary.

Went there as early as 7.30am on Saturday, March 14, 2015.

We would have missed the sight of any balloons if we reached there later.

Next stop, PICC...

Breakfast at Q Bistro

Q Bistro is located at No.2, 2A & 6, Jalan Dwitasik, Dataran Dwitasik, Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras, 56000 Kuala Lumpur. It opens 24 hours daily.

The menu includes various food from roti canai, roti bakar, dimsum, tandoori, nasi kandar to Western food and Thai food.

Last Saturday, March 8, 2015, we went there for breakfast after our morning walk at Taman Tasik Permaisuri.

I had nasi lemak and lemon juice

while my friend had thosai.

We've been there before.

We had roti telur and thosai then.

Taste ~ not bad

Price ~ cheap

Service ~ acceptable

Needless to say, we'll be coming again...

Happy Chinese New Year 2015

Attended the department's pre-CNY lunch at Menara Mudajaya, Mutiara Damansara on Tuesday, February 10, 2015.

The doorgift was a box of Beryl's gaufrette.

The year of goat started on Thursday, February 19, 2015.

 I'm so in need of good luck this new year...

Joined the department's CNY lunch in the office today which started with the customary tossing of yee sang.
