Housewarming at Taman Lestari Putra

A colleague moved to her new home in May and last Saturday she finally held her housewarming for us, one of the few she has held, I guess...  Along with her invitation, she wrote down the road direction instead of providing us the usual map as she claimed she didn't know how to draw map.

Sixteen of us turned up and we were served with nasi kukus ayam, chicken satay from Kajang, ice-cream and tiramisu cake.

Like the wallpaper at her living hall ~ no photo, though ~ only managed to snap some photos on the first floor, mostly master bedroom ;)

Till next week, hope we warmed the house enough hehe

Krabi Getaway

It's always been my dream to go to Krabi and that is where I've just got back from today.  I fell in love with it the moment I saw it on Amazing Race Asia Season 1 ~ back in 2007.  I know right then and there that I'm gonna go there one day.

Krabi town is located at the shore to the Andaman Sea. It is one of the southern provinces of Thailand.

We booked flight + hotel via airasia.com. The flight is scheduled to leave LCCT at 1.25pm and reach Krabi International Airport at 1.40 pm... Huh, thanks to the one-hour time difference, you saved one hour.  We stayed at Amantra Resort & Spa for the whole trip (5 days 4 nights). Amantra Resort & Spa is located on the south-west coast of the island of Koh Lanta Yai, part of Krabi province.
We were greeted by a friendly staff who immediately took us to our room.
Our room is right infront of the swimming pool.
Can't help but took a photo of the plants infront of the balcony
and the beach
Their restaurant is right by the beach.
We had dinner at the restaurant in the resort itself on the first and second nights and also for daily lunch.
 We had seafood tomyam,
 steamed fish with lemon,
Thai shrimp salad with glass noodles
and stir-fried shrimps with garlic & pepper.
As it is our initial intention to spend our holiday lazing around the beach or the pool, that is exactly where we've been every morning and evening.
Well, there is also a jacuzzi right next to the pool.
I also walked on the beach in the mornings.

On the second and fourth days, we decided to spend the afternoon at the spa.  It's called Dreamy Spa.
On the second day, I picked the promotion package of 1,000 baht for aromatherapy oil massage (exotic aroma oils are smoothed over acupuncture points of the body to soothe you into deep relaxation), body scrub (removes dead skin cells, rebalances skin texture and softens the skin.  This deeply cleansing treatment will detoxify your skin and is highly recommended prior to any spa treatment) and facial refresher (a pure and simple but very effective refresher consisting of cleansing, exfoliation, compress, toning, facemask and moisturising).  Without the package, aromatherapy oil massage costs 595 baht for 1 hour, body scrub costs 395 baht for 30 minutes while facial refresher costs 395 baht fo 30 minutes.

On our second trip to the spa, I did body mask (a nourishing body mask treatment to soften and refine your skin as well as detoxify and stimulate the body system to generate new skin cells, making your skin smooth, beautiful and perfectly toned. A scalp massage and body splash is included in this treatment) which costs 495 baht for 30 minutes and foot reflexology (a combination of firm hand action and wooden stick focusing on energy and healing points of the feet that affect the entire body) which costs 395 baht for 1 hour.

On the third afternoon, we called for Thai massage in the room.  It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience ~ never again!

On our last evening after we left Dreamy Spa, we had dinner at Laanta Seafood Restaurant.
While waiting for food, I took photo of the island on the opposite side of the restaurant.
We had seafood tomyam on hot pot,
spicy Thai shrimp salad with glass noodles,
stir-fried crab with black pepper, fried kale with oyster sauce ~ can't wait to dig into the tomyam that I forgot to take photos ~
lemon juice
and pineapple juice.
On our last morning on the island, we decided to take latte, hot Thai tea, egg sandwiches with french fries and
Pad Thai with omelette.
Can't believe I have spent 5 days in Krabi and it is now time to fly home. The flight is scheduled to take off from Krabi International Airport at 2.25 pm and reach LCCT at 4.45 pm... well, no thanks to the one-hour difference, the flight back is longer!

Till next week, so happy that one of my long-time dreams has come true :)

My day

I dreaded this day every year my whole life.  It's a day when it struck you that you are soooo old now.  You suddenly realised that there are soooo many things that you wanna do but yet to do, so many dreams yet to be achieved and then you wondered where have all those years gone?  I've never planned what I'm gonna do when it comes.  I just know that I'm gonna take the day off work.

This year, the celebration started on Monday morning.  A colleague bought breakfast for me at Subway Cafe, Wisma UOA, Damansara Heights.  In the evening, my cousin bought me dinner at Seed Cafe, Mid Valley and mango yogurt cake.
On Tuesday, of course, I received tons of birthday wishes via sms and a colleague even recorded herself singing the birthday song to me ~ so touched...

In the evening, a friend bought me dinner at Hokkaido Ichiba, The Gardens.  We had yaki udon
 eel with omelette don
miso soup
agedashi tofu ~ tofu tempura with sauce ~
ebi gyoza ~ prawn dumplings ~
and last but not least, chocolate tuxedo from Starbucks
Today, I'm back to work with belated birthday wishes.  My department bought lunch for a colleague  and I at Ben's, Pavilion.  Love the chocolate truffle.

In the evening, after work, another friend bought me dinner at Seoul Korea (not the country ya, the restaurant), Taman Desa.
They serve the customary side dishes - kimchi, mushrooms, seaweed, anchovies, peanuts, lady fingers, cucumber and others...
As main dish, we choose Mae-Bulgogi.  It's Korean's favourite Beef Bulgogi (marinated beef, mushroom, glass noodle in special soup)
The portion is huge and the soup is delicious! I am so full :)

Thanks a lot friends!!  The day is now over. I'm a year older, hopefully a year wiser, healthier and happier (?)

Till next week, wishing myself a year full of good health...

Coconut milk jelly

With nothing planned for the weekend, I decided to make coconut milk jelly (agar-agar). I've made it so many times before but not this year... Ta daa - here it is
The ingredients are a packet of agar-agar, sugar, coconut milk, water, eggs, salt, pandan leaves and green colouring.  The ingredients are so easy to get and it is easy to make.
Yeah, I made it! Again!!

Till next week, let's try something else

Eating Thai food

Decided to go for dinner at Kuchai Entrepreneurs Park after work last Friday. With so many choices, we just drove around and saw this cafe - Thai Kopitiam.  I'm a big fan of Thai food so we decided then and there to have dinner there.
We choose the tomyam seafood soup set
and the curry seafood set.
Both sets come with fish cake,
 white rice,
 mango and sticky rice
and lemongrass.
The food tastes good especially the tomyam seafood soup but the sticky rice is realllyyy sweet.

Till next week, let's have more Thai food ^^

Driving on Seri Wawasan Bridge

Putrajaya is the federal administrative capital of Malaysia.  I've been to Putrajaya before but always during daytime so last Thursday I went there in the evening.  I've always been fascinated with the government buildings and bridges in Putrajaya.

One of the main bridges in Putrajaya is Seri Wawasan Bridge which was completed in 2003.
This futuristic cable-stayed bridge has a sail ship appearance and it connects Precinct 2 on the Core Island to the residential area of Precinct 8.

There are many places to visit in Putrajaya.  Among them are the Agriculture Heritage Park, Botanical Garden, Putra Bridge, Putra Mosque, Putrajaya Cruise, Souq Bazaar and Wetland Park. Haven't got the time to see or visit all though :(

Didn't even managed to take many photos that evening but gonna come back for more :)

Till next week...
