Celebrating birthdays at Kita Dining

On Saturday, February 11, 2023, I treated two friends for their birthday breakfast at Kita Dining located at 47, Jalan Dungun, Bukit Damansara, 50490 Kuala Lumpur. Their actual birthday is on February 3 and 14.

I had green apple juice (RM13.20) and avo & labu (RM30.80) ~ smashed avocado, roasted pumpkin, beetroot hummus, poached egg, chickpeas salad served on sourdough. My friends had lord of shrooms (RM30.80) ~ sauteed assorted mushrooms, broccoli potato rosti, tempura mushroom, baby spinach & poached egg, classic mushroom soup served with garlic toast (RM17.60), crab on fire (RM30.80) ~ chili scrambled eggs, crab meat, Kita hot sauce, croissant & apple salad and shared lemongrass ginger tea (RM33). It was supposed to be only RM11 but we were charged RM33 instead! We also ordered three glasses of warm water (RM3.30).

Service ~ scan to order and pay at the counter... I always check thoroughly the bill before paying but somehow today when I didn't... BIG MISTAKE

Happy Chinese New Year 2023

The year of the rabbit began on Sunday, January 22, 2023. No tossing yee sang at all this year.

Received my first ang pow on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. 

Received my second ang pow on Friday, January 27, 2023.

Later in the evening, eight of us had dinner at JIN Gastrobar located at Aurum Theatres, The Gardens, Mid Valley City, 58000 Kuala Lumpur. One of them came with her husband and two daughters.

Two of us had mesclun grilled prawn salad (RM32)

~ walnut, orange, feta and citron tea dressing ~

I actually ordered kale smoked salmon and I was informed that is not available so I ordered arugula pear salad but what I was served was totally different *disappointed*

 Another one ordered chicken satay pizza (RM38)

~ grilled chicken, Japanese cucumber and onion with peanut sauce on a thin crust base ~

There is only one flavour so anyone who wants pizza has no choice.

Another two ordered truffle carbonara pasta (RM38)

~ made with organic eggs, truffle jus, tossed with turkey bacon and mushrooms ~

One of them is still within her 100-day mourning her mother-in-law so she can't give away ang pow. Hence, Ferrero Rocher it is.

I received my last ang pow of the year on Thursday, February 1, 2023.

A trip to Redang Island

We booked flight and accommodation directly from The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort for 3 days and 2 nights at Redang Island on Saturday, August 1, 2020. Redang Island is located in Teluk Siang, off the state of Terengganu in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The flight is scheduled to leave Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport at 11.00am and reach Sultan Mahmud Airport at 12.10pm on Monday, September 14, 2020. 

When we reached the airport at 9am, the check-in counter is not opened yet so we had breakfast at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

After we checked in, we waited for our flight in the Sky Lounge. We helped ourselves with another round of breakfast.

We took off from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport at 12.30pm and arrived at Sultan Mahmud Airport, Kuala Nerus, Terengganu at 1.30pm. 

At 2pm, we took off from the airport by helicopter at 2pm and arrived at Redang Island at 2.10pm.

We waited 35 minutes under the hot sun at the helipad for the hotel van to pick us up.

It was a 15-minute drive to The Taaras Beach & Spa Resort.

We checked in our room after drinks in the lobby.

We had buffet dinner at the Asean All Day Dining from 7pm to 8pm.

On Tuesday, September 15, 2020, we went for jungle trekking from 8.10am to 9.10am followed by breakfast at The Beach Brasserie till 10.30am.

At 6pm, we had Taaras Exquisite (RM29.40) and carrot mango (RM15.40) at Bayu Beach Bar.

We had buffet dinner at The Asean All Day Dining from 7pm to 9pm.

On Wednesday, September 16, 2020, we had breakfast at The Asean All Day Dining from 8am to 9.45am.

We decided to charter a boat for round island trip (RM1,100) from 10.30am to 1pm.

We had coconut juice (RM10) each and shared keropok lekor (RM5). I just gotta have my daily intake of tea (RM2). 

We hang out at the beach from 1.30pm to 4pm. 

I had chocolate drumstick (RM6).

Then we went for massage from 6.10pm to 7.10pm. I had Deep Tissue massage (RM224). We had buffet dinner at The Asean All Day Dining from 7.15pm to 9pm. 

Chilled out at Bayu Beach Bar from 9pm to 10.30pm where I had Bayu Bliss (RM32).

On Thursday, September 17, we had breakfast at the Asean All Day Dining from 7.10am to 8.50am before we checked out at 11.35am. We left for the airport at 12 noon. 

Departed from Redang airport at 12.45pm and arrived at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport at 1.45pm.
