Celebrating birthday at Thirty8 Restaurant, Bar & Lounge

On Sunday, July 19, 2020, I treated a friend for her belated birthday at Thirty8 located at Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, 12, Jalan Pinang, 50450 KL. Her actual birthday was on July 4.

The afternoon tea set includes lemon tartlet, mango tartlet, pistachio eclair, hazelnut caramel Opera, blueberry shortbread, bergamot-yuzu madeleine, raspberry macaron, strawberry & feta shortbread, plain and raisin scones served with homemade strawberry jam and clotted cream, sandwiches, fried mushroom spring roll and curry puff. It comes with selection of coffee or tea where I had Jasmine tea and my friend had blackcurrant and hibiscus tea.

Breakfast at Der Backmeister

Der Backmeister is located at 40, Persiaran Zaaba, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, 60000 Kuala Lumpur. Its operating hours are from 8am to 7pm daily.

Went there for breakfast last Saturday, July 11, 2020 with my friend. I had hot chocolate (RM13.78), avocado egg multigrain sandwich (RM19.08) and chocolate croissant (RM7.42) while my friend had flat white (RM11.66), tuna melt tea bread sandwich (RM19.08) and pudding Danish (RM7.42).

Celebrating birthday at Wagyu More

On Wednesday, July 8, 2020, I treated a friend for her belated birthday dinner at Wagyu More located at T-216-B, The Gardens Mall, Lingkaran Syed Putra, Mid Valley City, 59200 KL. Her actual birthday was on March 12.  Its opening hours are from 10am to 10pm daily.

It is an All-You-Can-Eat Japanese Shabu-Shabu restaurant. As buffet is not allowed during Movement Control Order, food including vegetables are served at the table. I chose herbal soup base with beef while she chose sukiyaki soup base with mutton (RM118.80) .

Dinner at Nando's

My ex-colleague and I went for dinner at Nando's located at Lot 1.105.00, Pavilion Elite, 166, Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur on Thursday, July 2, 2020. It opens from 11am to 9pm daily.

I had mild 1/4 chicken with garlic bread, chips, soup and Minute Maid orange juice (RM29.90) while she had mango & lime 1/4 chicken with coleslaw, chips, soup and iced lemon tea (RM29.90).

I had Phad Thai (RM21) ~ stir-fried rice noodle with prawns ~ and honeydew juice (RM9) while he had Thai fried rice with seafood served with chicken wing (RM19) and hot lemon tea (RM7.05).  We also shared Absolute Thai combo (RM40) ~ 4 pieces each of golden royal money bags, Thai fish cakes, crispy spring rolls & prawns wrapped with wanton skin served with mango salad ~ and stir fried bean curd with hot basil leaves (RM17).

Les Deux Garcons Cafe is located at 16, Jalan 2/109e, Taman Desa Business Park, 58100 Kuala Lumpur. Its operating hours are from 8am to 9.30pm from Sunday to Thursday and from 8am to 9pm on Friday and Saturday.

It serves croissant, salad, omelette, pasta, bread, pastry and desserts.

Went there for breakfast on Friday, June 19, 2020. Ordered carrot juice (RM12) and egg on toast, baked beans on toast and mushroom (RM15).
