Breakfast at Baba Boy

I went to see my dentist on Saturday, January 7, 2017 and was referred to do an X-ray at hospital. I decided to go to Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur located at Jalan Bukit Pantai, 59100 Kuala Lumpur. 

While waiting for the x-ray report, I walked around the hospitals.

Can't help but noticed that private hospitals are like malls nowadays.

There are bookstore, pharmacy store, convenience store, florists, gift shops, cafes, restaurants and food court.

I had breakfast at Baba Boy, one of the food court tenants. As I had cold, cough and sore throat, I had kuay teow soup and tea (RM6.90).

Location ~ not too far
Seating ~ indoor and outdoor
Food presentation ~ acceptable

Taste ~ alright

Price ~ reasonable

Service ~ good

Coming back? ~ Only if I'm in the hospital area.

Dinner at Sushi Zanmai

We didn't manage to meet up before end of last year so we met up early this year instead. We had dinner at Sushi Zanmai Restaurant located at Lot 5.1a & 2, Level 5, Nu Sentral Mall on Thursday, January 5, 2017.

We had spicy chicken ramen (RM14.80), soft shell toro salmon (RM5.80), kani avocado salad with zanmai dressing (RM18.80), inari kanimayo (RM5.80), soft shell crab (RM15.80), ebi okonomiyaki (RM18.80) and unatama don (RM22.80).

We haven't met up for more than 7 months so we had so much to catch up on. We were the last few to leave the restaurant, past the 10 pm closing time. This year we hope that we are able to catch up once in 3 months' time like we used to.

Received the first gift as early as Saturday, December 3, 2016.

 Received the second one on Saturday, December 10, 2016,

a third one on Monday, December 12, 2016 and

one from my colleague on Friday, December 16, 2016.

 Even collected a gift from The Gardens Club on Sunday, December 18, 2016.

A colleague walked around the department distributing gifts on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 :)

 In the evening, our department had a Christmas dinner in the office after work.

We don't have a Christmas tree so my colleagues pasted colour papers on the wall along with a few wishes written by colleagues.

Didn't get to snap photos of the food except the cookie.

On Christmas day, received a gift from my cousin.

We had chicken curry,

 chicken rendang,

 nasi himpit,

 bread,

 cakes and sweets.

Received the last few gifts on Thursday, January 5, 2017.

Dining with old friends

Caught up with an old friend on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Pepper's Cafe located at Tanahmas Hotel, 96000 Sibu.

We had Penang char kuay teow, 

Mas club sandwich, salad with fries,

iced lemon tea with longan and starfruit juice.

The hotel lobby is decorated nicely for Christmas.

On Friday, December 30, 2016, we managed to catch up with another old friend over dinner at Bandong Cafe. The two of us ordered green tea lemon juice and sour plum juice while waiting for him.

We had sea cucumber soup, grilled stingray, squid mayonnaise, Thai-style squid, stir-fried midin and chicken satay.

None of us is a big eater so we didn't finish the dishes. Nevertheless, it was a good catch-up session.
