Exploring One City

On Sunday, February 1, 2015, we decided to go to One City located in USJ 25, 47640 Subang Jaya.

One City is divided into five phases - Phase 1 (Garden Shoppe), Phase 2 (Sky Park), Phase 2A (The Place), Phase 2B (The Square) and Phase 3 (MCT Mall). It is spread across 77 acres of land.

The Place is decorated to commemorate the coming festival, Chinese New Year.

There are plenty of retail outlets, restaurants and cafes including Deep Living, De Home Biz, d'Grocer, Old Town White Coffee,  Tokyo Kitchen, Subway, Tappers, The Shepherdoo, Inaho Sushi, Fat Boys, Brew & Bread, Chilla Cup and Ah Cheng Laksa.

                       

Spent almost two hours exploring the place and left empty-handed. The location is so out of the way so not thinking of coming here to shop unless I'm somewhere nearby.

Breakfast at Tedboy Bakery

Tedboy Bakery was opened at 10, Jalan Telawi 4, Bangsar Baru Ground, 59100 Kuala Lumpur in July 2012 by Edward and Patrina. 

It was named after their first-born, Ted. 

Its business hours are from 7.30am to 10pm daily.

Naturally we choose to have their All-Day Breakfast and Gourmet Sandwiches.

English breakfast

Choice of beef/turkey bacon, chicken sausage, scrambled eggs on toast, mushrooms, baked beans and tomato comes with coffee and juice of the day (RM25.90). I chose turkey bacon and apple juice (I got double the size coz I don't drink coffee).

Salmon mango croissant

Premium Norwegian salmon slices with mango and cream in a croissant (RM18.90) and red dragon juice ~ dragon fruit and apples (RM7.90).

Hambagel

Choice of bagel (poppy seed/onion cheese/plain) with fried egg, turkey ham, cheese, baby romaine and mayonnaise (RM9.90)

and the o.j. juice ~ 3 whole oranges (RM7.90). 

Location ~ not too far

Taste ~ good

Price ~ affordable

Service ~ good

Definitely coming back...

Wetzel dog + pretzels at Wetzel's Pretzels

I have not bought Groupon voucher for almost a year so I browsed through the website and saw this deal ~ Wetzel dog + 2 premium pretzels + lemonade at Wetzel Pretzels for only RM12 instead RM20.90!

Wetzel's Pretzels is a Pasadena, California-based chain of fast food restaurants. The  first Wetzel's Pretzels opened in 1994 at the South Bay Galleria in Redondo Beach, California.

Wetzel's hand-rolled and soft-baked pretzels are fresh from the oven and come in many flavours, from plain unsalted to garlic butter cheese. The Wetzel dog is a chicken or beef frankfurter wrapped in pretzel dough and baked to a golden crust. 

The voucher is valid at 2 outlets: Sunway Pyramid and The Gardens Mall.  I redeemed it at their outlet in Lot LG-K08, The Gardens Mall last Sunday, February 8, 2015. For Wetzel dog, I choose beef while for pretzels, I choose chocolate and sour cream & onion flavours.

Was it worth it? For RM12? Definitely :)

Car panel painting, polishing and removing scratch

One fine day, my friend told me about a good deal under Living Social. The deal consists of 1 panel painting + polish + scratch removal with 3 years warranty worth RM200. Bought the voucher on September 13, 2014 for RM93.

The coupon is valid from August 14, 2014 to February 14, 2015 from 10am to 6pm and we redeemed it on Saturday, February 7, 2015. The workshop is located at No.18, Jalan 6/3, Taman Komersial Pandan Indah, Pandan Indah, 55100 Kuala Lumpur. Its business hours are from 10am to 10pm.

Reached the place at 10am and shocked to be told that the car will only be ready at 7pm and I need to pay additional RM100 to paint the door handle and side mirror holder. Negotiated the price and time... Finally agreed to pay RM80 and the car will be ready at 5pm so we left and came back at 5pm.

The car was ready by then ~ the scratches were patched up and polished... good job!

Visiting new baby in Columbia Asia Hospital - Setapak

Last Wednesday, January 28, 2015, an ex-colleague gave birth to a healthy 3.3 kg baby girl at Columbia Asia Hospital - Setapak.

We visited her the next evening after work.  This was my second visit to the hospital. She was alone when we came. Both of them are doing well though mother is not allowed to move and can only leave hospital on Saturday. Her baby was at the nursery so we went there to see her together with her auntie. She was sleeping though. We left a few hours later.

Till next week, congratulations to the parents on the birth of their second child! So happy for them now that they have a pair :)
