Lunch at Ole Ole Bali

Before we started shopping at Sunway Pyramid on Friday, January 17, 2014, we went for lunch at Ole Ole Bali Restaurant which serves Balinese food.

It is located at Lot OB-1C, Ground Floor, Main Entrance Oasis, Boulevard Sunway Pyramid, No.3, Jalan PJS 11/15, Bandar Sunway, 46150 PJ.

Despite its name and its Balinese decor, it also serves Western food.

There were only two customers there when we came around 11.30 am.

We had the same drink, honey, lemon and passion fruit

hot (RM9) and cold (RM11)

Cumi Metumis (RM33)

~ stir-fried squid with four angle beans and chilli ~

Be Pasih Mepanggang (RM31)

~ BBQ fish fillet with Balinese Spices ~

and our dessert, pisang bakar (RM13)

~ grilled caramelized banana served with vanilla ice-cream and peanut candy toppings ~

Location ~ convenient (come on, it's in a shopping mall ^^)

Food presentation ~ alright

Taste ~ good

Price ~ quite high

Service ~ prompt

Coming back ~ not in the near future... too pricey

Celebrating birthday at Rhythm & Blues Kitchen & Bar

It's the new year and time to celebrate a colleague's birthday. This year we decided to have lunch at Rhythm & Blues KItchen & Bar on her actual birthday, Friday, January 3, 2014.  It is located at Menara Hap Seng, Jalan P Ramlee, KL. Opening hours are from 11.30 am to 1 am daily. 

Nineteen of us celebrated her birthday this time. It was a big group so I didn't get to take photos of all the orders or even the birthday cake for that matter...

Two of us had beef burger with French fries

while another two had grilled chicken with French fries.

The lunch went well ~ a filling meal, a satisfactory service and a very happy birthday girl :)

High tea at Oriental Bistro, RH Hotel

Caught up with an old friend on Sunday, December 29, 2013. She was my classmate in secondary school.  We haven't met each other for almost three years. She looks the same, only with more kids ~.^

Decided to try out Oriental Bistro at RH Hotel, Jalan Kampung Nyabor, 96000 Sibu. It was Christmas so there were a gingerbread house

and a christmas tree.

We had Margherita pizza

~ a light pizza with olive oil, fresh garlic, fresh basil, fresh tomatoes, covered with more mozzarella, cheddar and parmesan cheese ~

Sago Gula Apong

~ pearl sago pudding with coconut milk, gula apong syrup and vanilla ice-cream ~

~ deep-fried French Fries served with ketchup and hot dipping sauce ~

It was great to meet again after all these years, reminiscing the good old school days.

Dinner at Absolute Thai Restaurant

Ever since the three of them left the company in 2012, we tried to meet up once every quarter but our hectic schedules prevent us from doing so. However, we still managed to meet up for dinner four times a year.

Before end of last year, four of us had dinner at Absolute Thai Restaurant located at Lot T-219, 3rd Floor, The Gardens Mall, on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.

Absolute Thai offers authentic Thai cuisine.

 While waiting for the guys to come, we ordered our drinks, mocha and honeydew juice.

 Once everyone has arrived, we ordered our dishes

baby kailan,

 deep fried garoupa in sweet and sour sauce,

 chicken

clear seafood tom yam soup 

 and red curry chicken.

I had tapioca for dessert

two of them had red ruby water chestnuts in coconut milk ~ not photo though ~ and another had this.

It was a great night. We all had a good time enjoying each other's company, catching up on each other's lives.

Celebrating Christmas 2013 and new year 2014

Today is the eighth day of Christmas and the first day of the new year 2014 ^^

Received my first Christmas card

 and first three gifts on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.

Received few more before I started my end-of-the-year leave.

Back in Sibu, Christmas tree decoration competition has turned Sibu Town Square Phase I into a 'Winter Wonderland By Night'. This year, twenty-one corporate organisations participated in the competition.

On new year eve, my family had dinner at The Wonderful Cafe.

We had stir fried baby kailan,

tofu soup,

 fried tilapia with sambal sauce

 and butter prawn.

~ hot barley, hot lemon, chinese tea, iced lemon tea and iced lemon barley ~

Location ~ not so far

Food presentation ~ can be improved

Taste ~ the baby kailan was salty while the rest was alright

Price ~ reasonable

Service ~ not bad

Coming back? ~ Probably not for the same menu
