Farewell Lunch at Delicious

We arranged to have a farewell lunch for a colleague once we found out that her last working day was on Friday, September 20, 2013. 

Four of us went to Delicious on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Delicious is located at G7 & G8 Tower A, St Mary Place, No.1 Jalan Tengah, 50250 Kuala Lumpur.  Its business hours are from 7 am to 11 pm daily.

The lady of the hour had caesar salad with anchovies, turkey bacon, poached egg, parmesan and chargrilled chicken
and latte
Two of us had smoked salmon open sandwich with sour cream and capers on toasted multigrain served with a side of chopped salad and potato wedges
while the other had carbonara spaghettini with oyster mushrooms, beef bacon, oregano and cream
Our lunch set comes with spiced apple tea
and a piece of cake.

Two of us chose chocolate cake
and the other chose carrot cake.

Going "crazy" with polka dots & stripes

Thanks to a feedback ~ writing two entries to make up for the weeks with none ~ here's the second one for today :) 

This year our company annual dinner is held at Aloft Hotel located at No.5, Jalan Stesen Sentral, 50470 Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, September 14, 2013. The theme for this year is go "crazy" with polka dots and stripes.

Celebrating birthday at Nando's

I did say that we would be celebrating more August babies :D  

On Wednesday, August 28, 2013, three of us treated a friend for dinner at Nando's, the birthday girl's choice. It was her actual birthday.  No taking the day off for this girl ;p

We went to the nearest one to our office ~ Lot 1.29.04, Pavilion KL. Its business hours are from 10am to 10pm daily.

The first Nando's restaurant was opened by two friends, Robert Brozin and Fernando Duarte.  In Malaysia, the first Nando's restaurant was opened in Bangsar in June 1998. Nando's Malaysia Director, Mac Chung Lynn first discovered Nando's when she was a student in London. 

At Nando's, chickens are marinated in Nando's traditional Peri-peri flavours - mild, hot or extra hot Peri-peri and flame-grilled.

so we shared the Meal Platter ~ whole chicken +
 regular sides (our choice: chips, corn-on-the-cob, coleslaw and potato wedges)
+ 2 bottomless soft drinks (our choice: Sprite and Coca-cola) ~
and Espertada
~ tender marinated chicken thighs and fresh peppers served on a skewer with 2 regular sides (our choice: corn-on-the-cob and potato wedges)
The evening went well ~ good food, good service and good company.

Breakfast at In House Cafe

In House Cafe is located at 183G, Jalan Lancang, Taman Sri Bahtera, 56100 Kuala Lumpur. Currently there are eight outlets in Klang Valley.
In House Cafe was founded in 2010 by its Managing Director, Calvin Liew. I went there for the first time on Saturday, August 24, 2013. 
Its business operation - 24 hours! How about that?! We can just come anytime... and we choose to come for breakfast.
There are approximately over one hundred types of food and beverage in the menu including dim sum, western food, local food, flower tea, fresh fruit juices and pearl milk tea.
We can't order the breakfast set which is only available on weekdays except public holidays so we ordered

Celebrating birthdays at Fish & Co

Fish & Co was established in Singapore in 1998. Fish & Co serves all food in a unique Mediterranean style - in a pan! It specialises in fresh fish and seafood like prawns, mussels and calamari.

There are three outlets in Klang Valley.  The nearest one to our office is located at Lot No. C4.02.00, Level 4, Pavilion KL.  Its business hours are from 11.30 am to 10.00 pm on Monday to Thursday and from 11.30 am to 11.00 pm on Friday to Sunday.
My colleague and I treated our ex-colleague for her birthday at Fish & Co on Wednesday, August 14, 2013, three days in advance of her actual birthday.

~ a platter of fried calamari, fish nuggets, prawn fritters and french fries served with spicy mango vinaigrette, tar tar sauce and tomato salsa ~

~ Passion Fruit ~
The birthday girl chose to have mojito 
~ fresh mint leaves and lime juice ~
It was a filing meal. Like what they always say in Fish & Co. "one bite & you're hooked!" I'll definitely be back!

I was back alright in 2 weeks' time. On Tuesday, August 27, 2013, nine of us from my department bought lunch for another three colleagues. The first one was born on August 25, the second one on August 26 and the third one on September 3. This restaurant was the second one's choice.

This time I ordered Swiss Fish & Chips combo
~ Fish & Chips filled with tasty Swiss cheese topped with garlic lemon butter sauce ~ and I had mashed potatoes instead of French fries.
The service was so bad with the delay in delivering our orders, even delivered me the wrong one with no apology. One of my colleague's order was only delivered after over an hour that we have to take away instead of having it there.

The meals were good but they've gotta improve on the service :(
