Breakfast at Departure Lounge

Departure Lounge is located at 10, Jalan SS21/39, Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya. Its business hours is from 8am to 7pm daily. Our first visit to the cafe was on Saturday, August 17, 2013.

We ordered the 'Do It My Way Breakfast Platter' where we can choose 3 items for RM8.90.

The drink menu is interesting. It is stated as 'Departures' with drink as 'Destination' and price as 'Time'.

There were only two customers there when we came just a few minutes after 8am and within the hour people started to fill up the cafe.

Once we placed our order, we were given a 'boarding pass'.

We ordered chamomile tea and long black. Each costs RM6.

My friend's platter: wholemeal bread with strawberry jam + omelette (2 eggs) + beef bacon + button mushrooms

My platter: white bread with strawberry jam + pancake with honey + salad + turkey bacon

Just gotta take this photo of the poster on the wall before we left.

The meal was good and the idea of being able to choose the items for our platter is a good one. Will definitely come again.

Celebrating birthday at Sushi Zanmai

On Wednesday, August 7, 2013, the eve of Hari Raya Puasa, six of us treated a birthday girl for lunch at Sushi Zanmai, Fahrenheit 88. This year, her actual birthday fell on the first day of Hari Raya Puasa.

Sushi Zanmai is located at Lot 2-03, Fahrenheit 88, No.179 Jalan Bukit Bintang, 55100 Kuala Lumpur.  This is one of their seven outlets in Klang Valley.

We shared all the food

including desserts.

I've always like Japanese food so it was all good.  Well, good food + good company = good day :)

As our office closed half day on the eve of Hari Raya Puasa, our lunch was longer as there was no rush to go back to the office.

BookFest in Malaysia 2013

BookFest @ Malaysia 2013 was launched on August 2, 2013 and opened to public from 10am to 10pm from August 3 to 11, 2013. As usual, it was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.  Admission is at RM2.50 per ticket.

Went there on Hari Raya Puasa, Thursday, August 8, 2013. The halls were crowded and the parking lot was full.

Can't find the books that I'm looking for and can't be leaving empty handed so I only bought one book... 

Left after over two hours to go shopping next door - Suria KLCC ^.~

My day

The day of the year is here...

Celebration began on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 with lunch with 13 of my colleagues at La Boca Latino Bar located at C3.10.03, Level 3, Pavilion KL.

La Boca Latino Bar was opened on August 31, 2012. 

Its business hours are from 9am to 1am on Sunday to Thursday and from 9am to 2am on Friday and Saturday.

Their menu features a wide range of Latin dishes.

Our starters... 

Croquetas de pescado

~ breaded shredded fish and dill bechamel served with garlic aioli and chipotle dipping sauce ~

 and calamari skewers

~ grilled calamari with sauteed garlic ~

Our main course...

club sandwich,

roasted lamb

~ broiled leg of lamb slices with potato and mint pesto ~

and chicken fajitas 

~ chicken strips served sizzling with guacamole, sour cream, tomato salsa and tortilla bread ~

Our desserts...

Alfajores

~ coconut and chocolate biscuits filled with creamy caramel confection made from milk and sugar served with vanilla ice-cream ~

and churros

~ fried dough pastry dusted with cinnamon sugar ~

followed by a small celebration in the office in the afternoon.

On Thursday, July 25, 2013, shared lunch at Delicious with a colleague who was born on the same day. We chose to have Caesar salad,

teriyaki chicken burger and 

 fish and chips

It was so filling that we can't finish the wedges and French fries we gotta take-away.

Later in the evening, I had dinner at Spasso Milano located at Lot 6.44 & 6.45, Level 6, Pavilion KL with three friends. Spasso Milano is an Italian restaurant which offers cuisine representing all things Italian.

I had my hot chocolate :)

We shared smoked duck breast

~ sliced home-smoked duck breast & avocado drizzled with hazelnut oil ~ 

squid aglio olio,

Bianca Felix pizza

~ oregano, caper, parmesan & mozzarella ~

and Napolitana pizza

~ tomato, anchovy, caper, oregano and mozzarella ~

 followed by desserts at Meet Fresh located at Lot 6.35, Level 6, Pavilion KL.

We ordered Q Mochi + tofu pudding with honey bean and twist combination of herbs jelly blended ice + soybean blended ice + red bean + pearl + taro ball and white gourd tea. 

The next afternoon, a friend treated me afternoon tea at Secret Recipe, The Weld and posted this on his fb page ^^

Later in the evening, another dinner treat :)

This time it's at Rojmaan Nargile Lounge & Restaurant, No.4, Jalan Waras 1, Taman Connaught, 56000 Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

Homemade mushroom soup

~ layer of egg plant and minced beef topped with mozzarella cheese ~

Rojmaan pizza 

~ chicken, turkey ham, beef bacon, mushrooms, black olives, capsicum, cheese and pineapple ~

Lastly, lunch with my cousin last Sunday, August 4, 2013.  She just got back from her one-month South America trip end of last month. Our lunch was at Plan B located at Lot G-073-075, Ground Floor, MId Valley Megamall.
